Beautiful rare late antique ironstone jar by Horrocks & Watson Springfield Potted Meats dating around 1890/1900s,
What is a bit more unusual on this pot is that it has the additional advertising for their lemon cheese and extract of meat tomato sauce either side, which is harder to find on these pots.
In 'dug' condition. There is a firing flaw that looks like the pottery has separated along the bottom rim, this doesn't effect the sturdiness of the pot, it just show how tough this old pottery is! Believed to date to 1900s, no chips but plenty of crazing. The decorative advertising aspect to it is in good condition and it would sit happy decoratively on a shelf!
