Beautiful rare tureen that was made to celebrate a marriage and would have been given as a wedding gift. French Ironstone with beautiful hand painted pansy detailing. Pansy flowers were used in ancient times as a symbol of love, which is a very touching addition in the design. It translates into ' Memory of my wedding'. It would have been given as a gift for the bride to use in her new married life. So precious!
Fantastic condition for age, no chips or cracks, some slight rubbing to the paint work but nothing too bad or obvious. A truly beautiful piece.
