A rare circa 1900s terracotta butter cooler cloche.
This would have been used back in the days when there were no fridges to keep butter cool in the larder. It would have been put in cold water and then inserted over the top of a slab of butter to keep the butter fresh.
Now would look fantastic decoration in a farmhouse style kitchen!
This is a rare early example and has the original advertising to the top of the cloche. No chips or cracks. As this is made of terracotta they are easily broken which is why they are a rarer find today.
